Our Owner/Head of school:

 

Jodi Someshwar is a management graduate from University of Texas at Dallas. She has held responsible positions at Texas Instruments, Digital Equipment Corporation, Radiant Corporation and the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Her undergraduate education is in Child Psychology and she worked with children at the University of Texas, Austin in 1974. She became interested in Montessori child development curriculum after seeing her grandchildren go to local child care centers. She became associated with Preston Park Montessori and Preston Creek Montessori in Plano Texas. After reviewing their program and spending some time with them, Jodi decided to start a Montessori school here in Austin with the help of associates in Plano and in Austin. Her goal is to create a ‘first in class’ Montessori school.

 

Assistant Head of School:

 

Deborah Golanski has both a business management and early childhood education background. She held a manufacturing management position for fine leather and engraved stationery, for corporate retail accounts including: Neiman Marcus, Tiffany’s, Mark Cross, Lands End, and Coach. She assisted with the production of fine gifts, for Heads of State, for the Office of Protocol for the White House. Deborah was the owner and director of a state licensed child care in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. She has been teaching in early childhood education, commercial centers, performing arts and Montessori schools for 17 years. She is absolutely passionate about the Montessori philosophy. Deborah received her Montessori training from Collin College under an AMI Instructor, where she earned her Practical Life Certification. She holds a level three teaching credential with the Maryland State Department of Education and a Child Development Associates where she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Society and the National Deans List, with a 4.0 g.p.a, from Montgomery College. Deborah is a certified Montessori Primary Directress she received her certification through the North American Montessori Center. She is the proud mother of three children: two daughters, one son and one granddaughter.

 

 

 

 

Suma Dasgupta attended Annamalai University, in Chennai, India, where she earned a degree in commerce and was elected the class President during her freshman year. She has been teaching in early childhood education for 4 years and has taught both the toddler program (ages 18-24 months) and the primary program (ages 3-6). Suma is Montessori certified to teach the primary age group; she received her certification through the North American Montessori Center. Suma is married and is the proud mother of two children. Her hobbies include cooking, interior decorating and organizing.

 

 

 

 

Indu Ephraim attended BMS College in Bangalore, India, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree.Later, she attended Karnatak University, in India, earning her Masters Degree in Sociology. Indu has been teaching in early childhood education for 11 years. She is Montessori certified to teach the primary age group. Indu received her certification through the North American Montessori Center. She is married and is the proud mother of one son and two grand children.

 

 

 

 

Nighat Raza attended St. Joseph’s College Karechi, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree and received the Best Conduct award. Nighat has been teaching in early childhood education for 12 years. Ms. Nighat is a certified as a Montessori Primary lead teacher. She received her certification through the North American Montessori Center. Ms. Nighat is married with three children and two grand children. She enjoys reading and swimming.

 

 

 

 

 

Ms. Debbie Mikulenka attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. She has been teaching in early childhood education for 9 years. Debbie has Montessori teaching experience working with children ages 18 months through 4 years of age. She is the proud mother of four children: two boys, two girls and one granddaughter. She enjoys outdoor summer activities and watching movie classics.

 

 

 

 

 

Priya Vedamurthi attended Meenakshi College, India, where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts and her Masters of Arts degree in English literature. Priya has been teaching in early childhood education for 3 years. She has taught classes ranging in age from 18 months to 3 years. She is a candidate for the Montessori Infant Toddler Diploma this November 2011. Ms. Priya is married with one daughter. In her spare time Ms. Priya enjoys reading books.

 

 

 

 

 

Beth Peacock attended Austin Community College and Texas School of Business, where she graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. She has been teaching in early childhood education for 7 years. Beth has taught children ranging in age from infants through pre-k. She is the proud mother of one daughter. Beth’s hobbies include hiking, biking and she enjoys living in the music capital of the US!
